Dr. Adrienne Wilen
Naturopath
Naturopathic medicine is an intricate health care model that uses a combination of natural and clinical therapies in the treatment of each unique person. As a licensed Naturopathic Physician, I work in primary care with a special interest in gastrointestinal and cardio-metabolic health. I see patients for preventive medicine as well as for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
Throughout my years of practice, I have frequently seen a similar theme in that the source of our health concerns often lies at the center of our bodies: our gut. While not every acute condition (such as ear infection or common cold) arises from issues in the gut, I often spend extra time working with chronically ill patients on optimizing their gastrointestinal tract to help their body find balance.
As a member of the Gastrointestinal Association of Naturopathic Physicians, I am always keeping up with what is new in gastrointestinal care for my patients. Together, we work to identify the source of dysfunction, create long-lasting habits, and finally regain control of health and wellbeing.
I have Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Washington State University and spent a year as a microbiologist at Elysian Brewing. While I loved working with microbes, I found humans much more of a puzzle and entered the world of naturopathy by pursuing a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University.
When not seeing patients in the clinic, I spend my time enjoying nature with my fiancé and two dogs. We love the snow and can often be found a few hours outside of Seattle searching for it. I enjoy cooking and optimizing nutrition for myself as well as for my patients and their health.
